About the Role
In this opportunity as an HIPAA and Regulated Data Risk Analyst, you will:
-
Risk Assessments: Conduct or facilitate the conduct of risk assessments related to HIPAA and other regulated data. Translate HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules into actionable technical requirements and their implementation across systems and platforms. Implement privacy by design methodology and privacy controls into proactive reviews

Automation & AI-Driven Compliance: Develop and deploy automation tools to monitor, enforce, and report on HIPAA and regulated data compliance activities, including access controls, audit logging, anomaly detection, and breach response.

Monitoring and Reporting: Build dashboards and reporting tools to track compliance metrics, identify trends, and support continuous improvement of privacy and security programs.

Privacy Engineering & Operationalization: Collaborate with engineering teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into product development and system architecture. Support the development of technical safeguards for PHI and other sensitive data.

Incident Response Support: Assist cybersecurity and legal teams in investigating and documenting security incidents involving regulated data, including technical root cause analysis and remediation planning.

Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver technical training modules for engineering and IT teams on HIPAA compliance, secure data handling, and privacy-enhancing technologies.

Documentation & Audits: Maintain technical documentation of compliance controls, system configurations, and audit trails. Support internal and external audits related to HIPAA and regulated data.
About You
You're a fit for the role of HIPAA and Regulated Data Risk Analyst if your background includes:
-
Law degree preferred and/or Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related legal and technical field.
-
Relevant privacy certification, such as IAPP's Certified Information Privacy Professional credential (CIPM, CIPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
-
3–5+ years of experience in a technical privacy, cybersecurity, or compliance role, preferably in a SaaS environment.
-
Conducting privacy reviews including drafting and reviewing customer, partner, and vendor data protection agreements.
-
Strong understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and technical implications.
-
Hands-on experience implementing HIPAA technical safeguards (e.g., encryption, access controls, audit logging).
-
Experience with automation tools (e.g., Python, Power Automate) and AI/ML frameworks for compliance use cases.
-
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native security/privacy controls.
-
Experience with data governance tools, SIEM systems, and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
-
Proficiency in scripting and automation for compliance tasks.
-
Knowledge of data classification, retention, and lifecycle management.
-
Experience with privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and risk assessments from a technical perspective.
-
Ability to interpret legal and regulatory requirements into system-level controls.
-
Experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or other government data handling frameworks would be beneficial.

Experience in advising product and technology teams on privacy obligations relating to the processing of sensitive data, including implementing privacy by design requirements.

Compensation
Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For Poland, the base compensation range for this role is 152,600 PLN - 283,400 PLN. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
