This is a field-based role in Taiwan for a Business Development Representative focused on Clinical Next Generation Sequencing and Oncology. The position requires extensive experience and a proven track record in clinical and life sciences commercial roles, with accountability for delivering and exceeding the assigned territory business plan.
This role will drive market development and growth across key accounts by shaping account strategies, building executive and clinical stakeholder alignment, and accelerating adoption of our NGS platforms and oncology assay portfolio. Success requires strong technical fluency in next generation, sequencing and advanced molecular technologies to translate clinical and laboratory needs into commercially viable solutions, while navigating complex hospital decision making, procurement processes, and implementation requirements.
The Business Development Representative will act as a strategic partner to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring the right resources are engaged to support instrument placement, assay launch, and sustained utilization. Strong business acumen is essential to convert account plans into measurable revenue results through disciplined funnel management, accurate forecasting, and effective prioritization of opportunities.
Essential Capabilities
Scientific and Clinical Insight:
Demonstrates the ability to understand clinical oncology testing needs and laboratory workflows, and to connect customer requirements to solutions that drive adoption and utilization. Maintains strong awareness of current trends in NGS and molecular oncology and effectively differentiates against competitive offerings.
Business Development and Strategic Account Management
Builds and executes territory and key account plans that expand footprint, increase utilization, and grow revenue. Develops and maintains relationships with key opinion leaders, clinicians, laboratory leaders, and hospital decision makers to influence long term technology and portfolio choices.
Commercial Execution and Forecasting Discipline
Owns pipeline management in CRM and drives opportunities from early stage qualification through closure and post placement ramp. Delivers accurate and timely forecasting for run rate as well as project-based instrument and assay orders, with clear assumptions, risks, and mitigation actions.
Instrument and Portfolio Growth Leadership:
Leads end to end commercial initiatives to drive instrument placements and portfolio pull through. Positions solutions based on clinical value, workflow efficiency, service model, and total cost considerations, while aligning to customer budget and procurement requirements.
Cross Functional Leadership and Collaboration
Works effectively across internal teams such as applications, service, marketing, supply chain, and regional stakeholders to ensure coordinated execution and customer success. Collaborates closely with Taiwan Sales teams and regional partners across Vietnam and the Philippines to support aligned business priorities.
Diagnostic and Regulatory Market Understanding
Understands the molecular diagnostics regulatory environment and the registration pathway for IVD and CDx assays. Monitors policy and market shifts, evaluates potential impact on the business, and adjusts account prioritization and opportunity strategy accordingly.

Work with commercial leadership to plan and execute territory activities that support agreed business goals, with a focus on steady growth and customer success.

Identify and develop new opportunities by engaging customers, understanding needs, and collaborating with internal teams and business partners to build solutions.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the territory, including clinicians, laboratory teams, and key opinion leaders, to support long term adoption and collaboration.

Support competitive project opportunities by preparing value-based proposals and coordinating resources to help customers make informed decisions.

Support assay utilization growth across existing accounts by identifying suitable applications, assays, and workflows, and helping customers expand usage over time.

Assist with clinical trial related activities and assay registration initiatives by coordinating communication and ensuring customers receive timely support.

Provide clear and engaging presentations to oncologists, pathologists, and clinical laboratory stakeholders in Taiwan, tailored to their clinical and operational priorities.

Respond to customer enquiries and issues in a professional and timely manner and maintain accurate customer and opportunity records in CRM.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field. PhD is a plus but not required.

3 to 5 years of experience in clinical or life sciences commercial roles, with a track record of delivering goals and building customer relationships

Must possess strong clinical oncology knowledge and maintain an established network with physicians and other clinical stakeholders.

Comfortable engaging with clinicians and laboratory stakeholders, including supporting discussions with senior decision makers when needed.

Familiarity with molecular oncology testing. Experience with next generation sequencing is a strong plus.

Basic understanding of clinical laboratory environments and testing concepts, or strong willingness to learn and collaborate with internal technical teams to support customer discussions.

Understanding of healthcare industry environments, including reimbursement, guidelines, and common customer requirements.

Strong communication skills in Mandarin and English, both verbal and written.

Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and collaborative working style.

Well organized, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating closely with a broader team.

Willingness to travel within Taiwan as business needs require.

Comfortable using CRM and common digital tools to support customer engagement and remote selling.
