Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you'll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world's toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

DESCRIPTION:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, as a Commercial Business Analyst III. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in driving our commercial strategy and business growth by bridging business needs with data-driven and technology-enabled solutions that enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner and safer.

You will partner with stakeholders across our global organization to analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and sales performance, and to translate those insights into actionable improvements in process, analytics, and digital capabilities. This role is a key contributor to commercial digital transformation, supporting adoption of AI-enabled capabilities, automation, and analytics to improve decision-making, streamline work, and enhance the customer experience.

In addition to commercial analysis and insights, you will help translate business priorities into clear, testable deliverables—such as requirements documentation, user stories, process maps, data requirements, and acceptance criteria—and support the end-to-end lifecycle from discovery through implementation, including UAT, release readiness, and adoption support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize commercial processes, improve customer experience, and identify new business opportunities spanning enterprise platforms and integrations including CRM, ERP, and EDI.

Over the first two years, this role is expected to contribute to activities that support an ERP migration, including requirements gathering, process impact assessment, test scenario development, and readiness activities to ensure continuity across commercial workflows (e.g., quoting, ordering, pricing/discounting, fulfillment touchpoints, and customer/product data).

This role also supports an internally developed application built on **Out Systems (low code)**and leverages data integrated through a data lake with Elasticsearch, requiring close partnership with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure solutions meet business needs, align to commercial KPIs, and operate reliably at scale.

REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in business analysis or related commercial roles, with demonstrated ability to lead complex projects

Preferred Fields of Study: Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or related field

Professional certifications preferred (e.g., PMP, CSPO, CFA, or relevant marketing/sales certifications)

Advanced skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP)

Excellent project management skills with ability to manage commercial initiatives

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders and presenting insights

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on driving business results

Experience with Agile methodologies and tools in a commercial context

Ability to build consensus across organizational boundaries, especially with sales, marketing, and customer care teams

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills for leading workshops

Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented commercial environment

Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
