Location:

This position is open across Germany. Ideally, the candidate will be based in the Rhine-Main region, Rhineland-Palatinate, or North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).

As a Senior Account Manager (m/w/d) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will drive revenue growth by developing and managing strategic customer relationships across our Bioproduction portfolio, including Gibco™ Cell Culture, Thermo Scientific™ Single-Use Technologies, and POROS™ chromatography products. You will act as a trusted advisor to biopharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, supporting upstream and downstream bioprocessing workflows from process development through pilot plant and commercial manufacturing.

This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, consultative sales capability, and hunter mentality, working closely with Technical Sales, Field Application Specialists, and cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive, value-based solutions that enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

A Day in the Life:

You will partner with industrial biopharmaceutical customers to influence the evaluation and adoption of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Bioproduction solutions across development and manufacturing environments. You will manage complex sales cycles, engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels, and collaborate internally to ensure customers receive the appropriate technical and commercial support throughout evaluations, trials, and projects.

What to expect:

  • Drive adoption and influence the evaluation and use of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Bioproduction solutions within industrial biopharmaceutical organizations
  • Sell across all customer levels, including technical, manufacturing, and commercial stakeholders
  • Maintain and grow business within existing key accounts through mapping and managing strategic influential stakeholders
  • Operate effectively with a hunter-oriented sales mindset, identifying and developing new opportunities to meet or exceed revenue targets within existing accounts
  • Collaborate closely with Field Application Scientists, Technical Specialists, and internal support teams to ensure appropriate technical support for evaluations, trials, and projects
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting, opportunity management, lost-order analysis, and competitive intelligence
  • Analyze territory performance, customer data, and market trends to drive strategic planning and execution
  • Manage complex sales cycles and multiple opportunities simultaneously

Keys to Success: Education

  • Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific degree, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 5 years of sales experience in bioproduction, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related life science industries
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing strategic accounts
  • Established relationships with upstream and downstream process development teams within biopharmaceutical accounts

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong technical knowledge of cell and gene therapy, recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, and associated bioprocessing workflows
  • Ability to translate customer needs into value-based, technically sound solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical and sales data
  • Experience using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce.com) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (50–75%) within the assigned region
