Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Global Payroll is looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to assist in daily operations on our Colleague Support team for all business lines within Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position will focus on colleague support, leave of absence and time keeping functions for the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete research for employee payroll inquiries using multiple software systems including, but not limited to, ADP Global View, Service Now, Workday
  • Resolve colleague inquiries through Service Now cases and Microsoft Teams calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Contribute to the building and maintenance of employee facing and internal knowledge bases
  • Partners with internal Payroll Team members in identifying systemic issues and assisting in resolution.
  • Collaborate with Colleague Services team to educate them on payroll items as needed.
  • Coordinate time file export activity from Workday to ADP Global View inclusive of reconciling the activity between these systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting timecard errors and ensure that employee timecards are calculating correctly based on timekeeping rules.
  • Troubleshoot system errors and issues, while providing updates as needed.
  • Ensure Leave of Absence payments are accurate and in line with state, local, and company requirements.
  • Support payroll-related audits, reporting requirements, and internal controls.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and controls; leveraging company-approved AI tools whenever possible.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including US and/or Canada payroll processing.
  • Prior experience with ADP, Workday, or similar HR/Payroll systems.
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of shift differential and regular rate of pay calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Payroll Certification CPP or FPC
  • Experience in large multi-state payroll environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Queries and AI automation tools
