Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the global Accounts Payable teams, including regional teams, supervisors, and senior specialists
- Oversee end-to-end AP operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor queries across multiple legal entities and regions
- Develop, implement, and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and performance dashboards to ensure operational excellence and accountability
- Drive global process standardization, automation (e.g., RPA, AI-enabled OCR), and continuous improvement across invoice-to-pay processes
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, and Compliance teams to optimize P2P performance, working capital, and risk management
- Ensure adherence to internal controls (SOX), tax and regulatory requirements, and corporate policies, especially in highly regulated environments (e.g., clinical research)
- Manage internal and external audit requirements; support statutory, group, and management reporting as needed
- Lead and develop a high-performing AP team; coach and mentor direct reports and identify future leadership talent
- Lead or support global transformation projects, ERP rollouts, business transitions, and M&A integrations
- Represent the AP function in governance forums, business reviews, and stakeholder engagements at senior levels
Basic Requirements
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or P2P, with at least 3 years in a people management or leadership role
- Strong understanding of global P2P operating models, controls, compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR), and tax implications (e.g., VAT, WHT)
- Proven experience managing large, distributed teams in a shared services or multinational environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead process optimization, automation, and change initiatives
- Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and cross-functional partners
- ERP proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba) and familiarity with payment and invoice automation tools
