The Sr. Product Manager will lead product strategy and portfolio management for the Clinical Diagnostic Reagents (CDR) business, a portfolio of catalog and OEM/contract manufacturing solutions supporting global IVD partners. This role establishes product management capability for CDR, driving profitable growth through disciplined lifecycle management, pricing strategy, and strong cross-functional leadership in a regulated manufacturing environment.
This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management.
Location: Middletown, VA. Relocation assistance is NOT provided.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Establish and embed product management best practices across the CDR business.
- Define and execute product strategies aligned to CDR business objectives.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps in partnership with Sales, Operations, and Quality.
- Own product lifecycle decisions, including new product introductions, portfolio optimization, and product discontinuation.
Market, Customer & OEM Engagement
- Serve as the primary product interface for OEM and B2B customers in collaboration with the Diagnostics Services Account Management team.
- Translate customer requirements and commercial opportunities into clear product specifications and business cases.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer activities.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams across Operations, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Marketing.
- Drive alignment on priorities, timelines, and trade-offs in a matrixed environment.
- Act as a conduit between customer opportunities and internal execution teams.
Commercial Strategy & Go-to-Market
- Own pricing strategy and margin targets across the CDR portfolio.
- Support go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, value propositions, and sales enablement.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to support launches, scale-ups, and customer transitions.
Business & Financial Ownership
- Drive product success measured by revenue growth, profitability, adoption, and customer retention.
- Develop and present business cases for new opportunities, investments, and portfolio changes.
- Support financial outlooks and ensure alignment with Diagnostics Services business goals.
Product Evangelism & Enablement
- Serve as a product subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop executive-level presentations, technical collateral, and customer-facing materials in conjunction with Marketing.
- Enable global sales and marketing teams with product and technical expertise.
How Will You Get Here?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Life Sciences or related scientific field preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of product management or relevant experience.
- Experience in the IVD clinical laboratory market preferred.
- Exposure to clinical chemistry, immunoassay and/or molecular products preferred.
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory workflows and B2B partnerships
- Experience supporting products in regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
