Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale. Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

DESCRIPTION:

Join our maintenance and engineering team and make a meaningful impact on advanced technology and processes. As an Engineer II in Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a key role in supporting maintenance engineering initiatives, driving equipment reliability, and ensuring optimal performance across production systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process stability and deliver innovative solutions that help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

In this role, you will lead engineering project initiatives focused on improving equipment reliability, maintainability, and overall manufacturing performance. You will manage and execute projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standards.

You will also lead and support reliability-centered activities such as MTBF analysis, failure mode investigations, and root cause analysis to improve equipment uptime and performance. You will develop and track reliability metrics, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions to strengthen overall system robustness. Additionally, you will support calibration engineering management and ensure compliance with internal notifications (INs), maintenance procedures, and regulatory standards.

You will contribute to new product introductions, process improvements, and equipment optimization initiatives with a strong focus on maintainability and lifecycle performance. Using data-driven approaches and lean methodologies, you will identify opportunities to enhance equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and control maintenance costs. Work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, R&D, and other teams to implement sustainable solutions that drive manufacturing and maintenance excellence.
