The Leader, Sourcing and Supplier Management ANZ leads vital category strategies encompassing multiple third party suppliers, as well as Procurement capability building to continuously improve the assigned categories of spend, customer experience and also reduce risk. You will collaborate with a team of product managers, operations, quality, regulatory, finance and other colleagues to prioritize sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, lead preferred supplier relationships and mitigate risk. You will also be the process owner for P2P as we improve our approach and the tools we use.

What will you do?

Scale of Responsibilities

  • Leads category initiatives to deliver key category performance indicators including: new product introductions, savings, supplier rationalization, low-cost region sourcing, business risk
  • Leads the development and execution of a 3 year global sourcing strategy, identifying and contracting with preferred suppliers that meet key business needs and category management goals
  • Champions the Procure to Pay process, leading improvements across the ANZ business to enable a smooth and streamlined experience for our colleagues, and our customers
  • Supports the wider ANZ business as local lead on ESG (Environment, Social and Governance), collaborating with other dedicated people in the business to ensure emerging local customer requirements are well run and in line with ANZ’s strategic ambitions.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Analyze category supplier performance data to find opportunities for supplier performance improvement and to establish continuous improvement goals
  • Facilitates free-flow of spend intelligence and analysis to internal business leaders in order to improve decision making
  • Actively leads and participates in supplier business reviews to ensure both parties meet obligations under the terms of agreement, including performance standards and continuous improvement
  • Takes charge of strategic contracts across suppliers, products and services within category
  • Coordinates external intelligence, assesses impact and refines category plans to support business requirements
  • Engages and supports key colleagues to qualify preferred suppliers & where needed, to migrate spend from incumbent, non-preferred suppliers
  • Finds and implements new opportunities though insight, influence and commercial resourcefulness !

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with cross-functional colleagues (quality, technical, operations, finance, etc.) to ensure all category sourcing activities are aligned to a common set of goals and priorities
  • Establishes category plans and priorities globally and ensures alignment with divisional business priorities

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with strong category/business engagement experience
  • Business insight – knows how to assess market/business requirements dynamics and negotiate agreements that yield meaningful business value
  • Experience working in regulated industries
  • Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant year over year results
  • Demonstrated consultative/collaborative style in performing sourcing activities
  • Influences without authority to empower and manage a cross-functional team in multiple geographies.
  • CPSM or equivalent is preferred
  • Hands-on supply chain experience is essential
  • Experience in life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical distribution industries is preferred
