Registered Nurse (RN) Full-Time Nights – Labor and Delivery (L&D) for Texas Health Alliance

Work hours: Full-time nights, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
Labor and Delivery Unit Department highlights:

Texas Health Alliance is a Texas 10-step designated facility.

14 LDR Rooms
-
4 OB/ED bays – with OB Hospitalists 24/7
-
2 OR suites
-
Average between 160 deliveries per month and increasing.

24 bed Postpartum/Newborn, couplet care
-
Level III Maternal designation
-
Level III NICU
Here’s What You Need
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of hire
- NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire Req
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days of hire
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
- At least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
