What to Expect
Kickstart your career in automotive with Tesla’s 2027 Apprentice Body Repair Spray Painter program!

This 3-year Apprenticeship Program is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience through full-time work in our Body Repair Centres, while simultaneously studying to obtain a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology).

At Tesla, you’ll work in a high tech, fast-paced environment with supportive management, mentorship and guidance from our expert Tesla Body Repair Technicians.

This apprenticeship will equip you with the skills and experience required to prepare, restore, and finish painted vehicle surfaces. These skills can then be applied to a range of jobs, from repairing damaged paintwork to simply adding some cosmetic enhancements.

This program is a pathway to becoming a fully qualified Body Repair Spray Painter. If you’re passionate about automotive, this is your chance to start your career in a company which values your potential and future progression.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain workshop and vehicle cleanliness, and assist in day-to-day operations
  • Support the wider Tesla Service Team in delivering outstanding customer experiences
  • Learn and perform basic body repair paint work under supervision
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools and automotive software systems
  • Build knowledge across all Tesla models, service procedures and safety standards

What You’ll Bring

  • Completed Year 12 education
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Be eligible to enroll with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and complete a Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology
  • Strong communication, time management and attention to detail
  • Passion or interest in automotive technology, mechanics and electric vehicles
  • Proactive and initiative-driven with a team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
  • Genuine desire to build a long-term career as a Body Repair Spray Painter
