What To Expect
Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, and we're seeking a highly motivated logistics professional to spearhead procurement and operations in our expanding LATAM markets. Starting with Chile and Colombia, this role will grow as Tesla's presence in the region expands. You'll drive market launches, manage vendor relationships, and procure logistics services for finished goods (vehicles and energy products), spare parts, customs, and service logistics. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a proven track record of achievements, and are ready to roll up your sleeves to support groundbreaking sustainable innovations, this is your opportunity to make a global impact.

What You'll Do

  • Procurement and Vendor Management: Lead RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, ensuring all commercial terms are agreed upon and documented. Position NDAs, SOWs, and Master Purchase Agreements appropriately before initiating business
  • Strategic Sourcing and Negotiations: Develop strategies for finished vehicle transport, warehousing, customs, and service parts logistics. Drive price negotiations to secure best-in-class pricing, focusing on vehicle transport, ground trucking, 3PLs, air, ocean, and LTL contracts
  • Cost Optimization and Risk Mitigation: Maintain productive global transportation and ancillary service contracts. Lead continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through strategic negotiations. Analyze current spend, evaluate suppliers, and consolidate opportunities to create leverage and identify new high-potential global suppliers
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Conduct negotiations, secure comprehensive agreements, and manage supplier performance, including dispute resolution. Develop key performance measures and negotiate longer-term contracts for cost reductions and improved service levels. Evaluate supplier proposals, core competencies, and competitive positioning using industry cost models to recommend final selections
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders in Finance, Energy Distribution, Logistics Operations, Trade Teams, and Engineering to develop bid specifications, negotiate contracts, and deliver sourcing recommendations. Address special equipment management, global market analysis, and procurement support aligned with business plans
  • Market and Industry Expertise: Stay ahead of industry trends in logistics and supply chain to foster sustainable supplier relationships and create competitive negotiation environments

  • What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience demonstrating exceptional ability)
  • Experience: 5-10+ years in vendor/carrier management, preferably in logistics and procurement within an OEM/production environment. Proven track record in planning, executing, and delivering projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Skills: Superior negotiation, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in high-pressure environments. Knowledge of purchasing processes (SOPs, RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, POs, etc.). Excellent written and oral communication for technical and non-technical audiences across all organizational levels
  • Languages: Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus
  • Willingness to travel as needed and a passion for Tesla's mission in sustainable energy
