About the role

What to Expect

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Staff Wireless Network Engineer to lead a team of wireless engineers responsible for the design, deployment, optimization, security, and ongoing support of wireless network infrastructure across our factories, offices, warehouses, and other facilities.

The candidate should combine strong technical expertise in wireless technologies with proven people-management skills, project leadership, and the ability to balance operational reliability with strategic planning in diverse environments. What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, coach, and manage a team of wireless engineers, including performance management, career development, workload prioritization, hiring, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
  • Own the end-to-end wireless strategy and roadmap for all company facilities (factories, offices, warehouses, etc) aligning with business needs, capacity growth, and enterprise standards
  • Oversee design, site surveys (predictive and on-site), RF planning, validation, and deployment of wireless networks optimized for challenging environments (e.g., high interference, metal structures, high density of devices/clients, harsh industrial conditions, outdoor areas)
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and coverage of wireless infrastructure supporting production systems, inventory/warehouse management (e.g., scanners, AGVs, RTLS), office productivity, guest access, IoT sensors, and security systems
  • Manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response for wireless networks; establish SLAs, escalate appropriately, and drive root-cause analysis and permanent fixes
  • Strong incident management process, operational discipline on how to ensure our global fleet for 5000+ wireless AP are operating as expected
  • Develop wireless SLAs across different site categories and services and lead capacity planning, lifecycle management, firmware/hardware upgrades, and technology refresh projects (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7/8)
  • Implement and enforce wireless security best practices, including secure onboarding, encryption, segmentation, rogue detection/mitigation, compliance with corporate policies, and relevant standards/regulations
  • Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Facilities, Security, and business stakeholders to integrate wireless solutions with broader ecosystems
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and service providers; evaluate new technologies/products; negotiate and oversee contracts, SLAs, and professional services. Develop and maintain documentation, standards, runbooks, as-built diagrams, and knowledge base; drive automation and tooling for monitoring, configuration, and reporting where possible

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in wireless networking, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or people-management role overseeing engineers or technical teams
  • Deep technical expertise in enterprise Wi-Fi design, deployment, and operations (Cisco, Juniper Mist, or similar platforms strongly preferred), including RF fundamentals, spectrum analysis, controller/cloud management, and troubleshooting tools
  • Proven experience delivering and supporting wireless networks in manufacturing, warehouse, or multi-site commercial environments (challenging RF conditions, high reliability requirements)
  • Strong knowledge of wireless security, network segmentation, authentication (802.1X, RADIUS), and integration with broader enterprise networking (switching, routing, firewalls)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from requirements gathering through design, implementation, and handover, including multi-site rollouts
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel to facilities as needed and occasionally work in industrial/warehouse environments (with appropriate PPE)
  • Relevant certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CWNA/CWSP/CWDP/CWNE, CCNP Enterprise/Wireless, Aruba Certified, Ekahau, or equivalent)
