About the role

What to Expect

As an Associate Production Manager for the Optimus program, you will be playing a critical role in achieving the organizational objectives in manufacturing on new program launch and sustaining production. You will lead a team of Supervisors on a KPI driven approach toward achieving daily operational goals. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with our process, maintenance, quality, engineering and NPI teams to solve problems, drive continuous improvement to achieve the performance targets and new product introductions.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive the ramp-up of new manufacturing lines, ensuring smooth launch, rapid stabilization, and sustained performance improvements and manage daily operations through Key Performance Indicators (KPI), problem solving and driving continuous improvement to achieve the KPI targets and build plans
  • Train, develop and manage the performance of supervisors, leads and associates and coach and mentor the supervisors on standard work, problem solving and continuous improvement and effectively manage their performance
  • Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets
  • Create and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety, quality and cost through communication, action, and accountability
  • Work cross functionality to make process improvements, address production bottlenecks and ramp production to achieve the build plan on new manufacturing lines and sustaining production lines
  • Support issue resolution through root cause analysis, implementing permanent counter measures and create an environment of continuous learning and improvement
  • Ensure production teams adhere to standardized work, policies, procedures and consistent work practices across areas and shifts. Conduct daily process audits to ensure compliance of the team to established standards, policies and procedures for safety, quality, delivery and cost

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ year experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting
  • Degree in a Business or Technical discipline and/or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Good understanding and experience with the use of Safety, People, Quality, Rate & Cost KPIs/metrics in daily operations
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and meeting tight deadlines
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
