What To Expect
At Tesla Engineering Germany GmbH in Freiburg, we’re building the future of sustainable energy by developing innovative power electronics for energy storage and vehicle charging systems. Join our team to collaborate across different engineering areas, solve meaningful challenges creatively and transfer concepts from initial design, through prototyping and testing into real-world solutions.

This is an opportunity to own key projects, use modern tools, and work in state-of-the-art facilities to create technologies that shape how energy systems evolve. You get to work on advancing power electronics used for Tesla products globally, thereby directly contributing to the acceleration of the world's transition to sustainable energy.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop cutting-edge manufacturing processes that enable high-volume production of products with improved quality, reduced costs, and increased efficiency
  • Apply a range of manufacturing techniques as well as quality assurance methods to ensure product excellence
  • Provide DFM (design for manufacturability) input to design team for process and yield improvements to meet high-volume production targets
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes to select and specify equipment solutions by defining requirements through CAD design, engaging with suppliers to develop fixtures and commissioning them for operational deployment
  • Optimize manufacturing process parameters using data-driven methodologies and scientific analysis to enable innovative product development and ensure superior quality standards
  • Conduct detailed testing and validation of installed machinery, including on-site and off-site acceptance testing (SAT/FAT), to ensure robustness and quality

  • What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar, with direct responsibility for developing, deploying, ramping, and optimizing complex assembly processes in automated high-volume production environments
  • Expertise with lean and six sigma principles, including proficiency in either of the following tools: DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Capability Analysis (PCA), statistical process control (SPC), and Kaizen
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design teams to refine product designs through Design for Manufacturability (DfM) principles, ensuring high-volume manufacturability and efficiency
  • Advanced skills in data analytics, including statistical analysis and visualization to make data-driven decisions and drive business results
  • Programming skills in G-Code, PLC and other machine related programming languages are a plus
  • Knowledge in isolation process development for power electronics applications is a strong bonus
  • Demonstrated excellence in process development for metal joining processes like laser welding, sintering, brazing and/or soldering including transitioning processes from prototype to production
