Join the Supplier Compliance team at Tesla, where you'll play a critical role in shaping and improving Tesla's global supply chain, contributing to the company's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. Our team is committed to ensuring operational excellence and adherence to processes within our supply base. Effective supply chain management is crucial for seamless operations at our factories. As the Supplier Compliance Manager, you will ensure that suppliers provide accurate and timely advanced shipment notifications (ASNs), utilize approved packaging and compliant labels, and adhere to Tesla's specifications throughout the procure-to-pay process.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage a team of US-based analysts responsible for overseeing suppliers and addressing specific non-compliance issues. Workload distribution, team development, and performance management
  • Establish and communicate global requirements for Tesla's procure-to-pay process and ensure suppliers adhere to these standards
  • Facilitate supplier onboarding and training using webinars, videos, and documentation; collaborate with supplier compliance teams in EMEA and China to align processes
  • Define criteria for supplier chargebacks due to non-compliance, execute chargebacks, and resolve disputes with suppliers; define requirements for Tesla's supplier-facing IT systems and promote adoption among the supply base
  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure supplier performance and identify areas for improvement; conduct ongoing data analysis and chargeback pipeline modeling to refine logic, reduce false positives, and quantify compliance opportunities
  • Work closely with Procurement, Material Planning, Logistics, Material Handling, Packaging Quality, and Accounts Payable teams; advise cross-functional and emerging teams on chargeback process design and implementation
  • Identify, scope, and drive AI and automation initiatives to improve compliance detection, supplier communication, and chargeback efficiency

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or other critical operations, or evidence of exceptional ability
  • 2+ years of people management experience, preferably experienced in automotive supply chains and/or direct supplier engagement
  • Data-driven mindset with a proven track record of using KPIs to drive process improvements
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including defining problems, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
  • Passionate and persistent in resolving issues, ensuring sustained process improvements are implemented and verified
  • Experience defining requirements for or partnering on the development of supplier-facing digital tools or operational software; familiarity with AI/ML applications in supply chain or compliance contexts a plus
