What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Quality Control Manager to support the construction and commissioning projects SEMI Factory, Giga-Factory and other offsite locations in Nevada. In this role, you will develop test procedures, provide support and coach of construction and trades teams, provide alignment on quality needs and liaise with local jurisdiction and operations, ensuring the smooth transition of projects from Design through Startup and end goal of operational state. You will also be part of commissioning and support commissioning activities when required to meet aggressive deadlines or priority projects. Focus will be on CSA, MEP and Fire/Life Safety systems with added support to electrical and controls systems as a strong asset.

What You'll Do

Assist with development of the site-specific QA/QC/CX program while driving a quality culture that embraces both “right first time” and continuous learning approach that improves project efficiency and quality

Cultivating and maintaining good working relationships with 3rd party special inspection vendors. Keep current with daily field report review. Staying diligent on POs and proposals. Learning the purchasing/procurement process as it relates to special inspection vendors

Maintain a good relationship with local jurisdictions and permitting requests. Including report submittal, following the IBC section on 1704 special inspection agreements, and maintaining current and expiring/closed permit

Confirm that scopes of work installation conform to approved Design drawings, specifications, and method

Witness & perform construction complete inspection checks & writes QC reports verifying proper install by design & code standards

Obtain relevant documentation and ensure the correct implementation of the Inspection Test Plans for all things related to mechanical, plumbing & fire protection

Assist and coordinate final handover documentation (QC/CX documents, test reports, inspection reports, etc.) including completion of construction punch lists

What You'll Bring

Relevant Journey Person or Engineering degree in mechanical or civil works, with over 7 years experiences in these fields as either a journey person or engineer

Knowledge of the construction quality process means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances with a willingness to train and obtain specific QA/QC inspection qualifications

Experience in the construction quality & commissioning management of mission critical facilities

Exposure to projects with project management experience

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask and adapt to change

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on, working environment as well as adapt to regularly changing plans and company priorities
