What to Expect
The Mechanical Construction Manager is a key site and project leadership role responsible for overseeing the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and process systems on construction projects. This position leads self perform Mechanical crews, subcontractors while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance for the mechanical scope.
What You’ll Do
- Lead mechanical crews, subcontractors, and trades on site
- Manage installation of mechanical systems (HVAC, hydronic/process piping, plumbing, equipment setting)
- Coordinate with the General Contractor, other trades, engineers, and owners
- Enforce safety, quality, schedule, and budget for the mechanical scope
- Review drawings, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders
- Track progress, labor productivity, material deliveries, and punch lists
- Ensure code compliance and support commissioning activities
What You’ll Bring
- 8–15+ years of mechanical construction experience (field preferred)
- Proven experience managing mechanical packages on commercial, industrial, institutional, or process projects
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and installation practices
- Experience leading union and/or non-union crews
- Proficiency with project management tools, Bluebeam, Procore/Autodesk Construction Cloud, and scheduling software
- OSHA 30 (or equivalent) and relevant safety certifications
- Ability to read complex mechanical drawings and coordinate 3D/BIM clashes; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
