The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of ductwork and dry mechanical work, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and project timelines. This role requires a strong leader with advanced technical expertise and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with subcontractors, engineers, and project managers within a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of ductwork systems (supply, return, exhaust, outside air, and specialty ventilation) and mechanical equipment (air handling units, fans, VAV boxes, dampers, and associated controls) and related systems (smoke/fire dampers, kitchen exhaust, industrial ventilation)
  • Plan daily and weekly work activities and monitor progress against project schedules

  • Lead daily whiteboard meetings with contractors to plan work and conduct weekly safety meetings to assess safety adherence and project progress
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other trades (electrical, structural, architectural piping, plumbing, controls, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and network) to integrate HVAC and ductwork systems into the overall project
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure ductwork and dry mechanical systems comply with blueprints, codes (SMACNA, ASHRAE, IMC, NFPA), and industry standards
  • Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols on-site

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 7 years in dry mechanical and HVAC construction, including 3 years in a supervisory role

  • Strong understanding of ductwork fabrication, mechanical equipment, and HVAC systems

  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30 or HVAC certification are strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in construction management software (Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with navigating through 3D modeling software (Navisworks, Revizto, or other)

  • Familiarity with SMACNA ductwork standards, local building codes, International Mechanical Code (IMC), and ASHRAE guidelines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with stakeholders
