What To Expect
The Sr. Transportation Shuttles and Operations Manager at Tesla drives the strategic oversight and operational success of employee transportation initiatives, including shuttle operations, Uber services, and nationwide carpool programs. This role focuses on delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions through vendor partnerships, data-driven insights, and budget management, while ensuring compliance, scalability, and a superior employee experience through active feedback integration and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Planning and Collaboration: Lead the strategic planning and execution of Tesla’s employee shuttle operations (including TripShot), on-demand transportation services, Uber program, and carpool programs, setting high customer service standards, and partner with other transportation program managers who support vanpool, bike, parking, and valet services to design strategic, innovative,, cost-effective, and dynamic transportation solutions that enhance employee experience
  • Vendor and Technology Partnerships: Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party service providers for shuttle operations, Uber services, and carpool programs, oversee ongoing vendor performance through KPIs, program audits, and reviews to ensure high- quality service delivery, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with Tesla’s operationalstandards, while also partnering with internal and external stakeholders to integrate new technologies and on-demand services for cost and program efficiency
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize and lead the development of data analytics and real-time tracking tools to monitor performance metrics for shuttle operations, Uber program, and carpool program, including documenting incident reports, identifying trends, optimizing the program, enhancing employee experience, and generating actionable insights for continued improvement, using findings to develop reports and presentations for senior leadership to inform decision-making
  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee program budgets, manage costs, and allocate resources effectively to support scalable shuttle operations, on-demand services, Uber program, and carpool programs, while balancing cost control with quality service delivery to maximize impact, and monitor and meet all deadlines for cost allocations, invoicing, and payroll reimbursements
  • Employee Feedback and Engagement: Actively solicit and incorporate employee feedback on shuttle operations, Uber services, and carpool programs through surveys and direct communication, ensuring the programs evolve to meet user needs and enhance the overall employee experience


  • What You'll Bring

  • Education & Experience: Degree in Communications, Marketing, Transportation Operations, or Project Management, with 8 years in transportation program management or corporate services, including 3-5 years in a senior/leadership role overseeing shuttle or employee commuting programs
  • Strategic & Leadership Skills: Proven expertise in strategic planning, execution, and optimization of transportation services, with experience collaborating with senior management for decision-making reports and presentations
  • Contract & Budget Management: Skilled in negotiating and managing contracts with third-party vendors and proficient in budget management and resource allocation for scalable programs
  • Project Management & Adaptability: Strong ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines, while demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Marketing & Communication: Capable of executing marketing strategies (digital and print) and leveraging excellent communication skills to gather employee feedback through surveys and outreach
  • Technical & Customer Service Proficiency: Familiar with transportation management software, advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite, and a proven record of exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement in cross-functional projects

  • Expected Compensation

    $72,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
