About the role

What to Expect

This position is expected to start January 2027 and continue through Spring term (ending approximately May 2027) or continuing into Summer 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You’ll Do

  • Your application for the Electronic Design Engineering
  • Electronic Devices Internship will be considered across all Electronic Devices teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Start-to-finish hardware ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards
  • Design of electrical architecture, electronic circuits, processor selection and integration, system timing and bus loading
  • Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams
  • Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc.
  • Rapidly iterate as design requirements and vehicle features mature over time

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCBA
  • Experience with PCB component selection
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis
  • Basics of serial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, etc.)
  • Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators).
