What to Expect

The Field Reliability Team’s mission is to identify the root causes of issues and uncover opportunities to improve Tesla’s products by reducing customer-facing problems, in close collaboration with other Engineering teams. Engineers and Technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle product systems across existing models. This is a hands-on contributor role focused on failure analysis and root-cause activities.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to execute a variety of technical tasks supporting ongoing failure analysis. The successful candidate will work directly with Field Reliability Engineers to perform sample preparation, mechanical inspection, electrical testing, teardowns, and other analytical work.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a laboratory or similar manufacturing environment and will be comfortable with a wide range of analytical techniques, spanning precision mechanical inspection through electrical debugging and data acquisition. Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to follow step-by-step instructions, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are essential.

As an industry-leading company, Tesla offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly visible role

  • Evaluate and document results, including photographic evidence and quantitative measurements

What You’ll Bring

  • 1+ years of industry experience (or equivalent) in an analytical laboratory or similar manufacturing environment
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble components without instructions
