What To Expect
Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. Revolutionary strategies and products were developed within a few years and successfully launched on a large scale. This is only possible through extraordinary speed, innovation and efficiency.

Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg forms the perfect basis for rolling out Tesla's incredible success story in Europe. The most important pillar for this is our employees. Their passion, motivation and engagement ensure that we achieve our goals. We are looking for you to continue and expand this success story together.

The Role

Role

Join our dynamic team at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg as a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Stamping Dies, where you'll immerse yourself in processing vehicle stamping dies for blanking, tandem, and transfer lines, plan innovative new die sets and modifications to existing ones, and guide the full buy-off process as an essential part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team Stamping, all while driving the excitement of building the future of electric vehicles in a collaborative and inclusive environment that values your expertise and fresh ideas

What You'll Do

  • Execute projects with sharp focus on cost, quality, and timing, while embracing a collaborative team spirit with colleagues and partner organizations, always prioritizing environmental, health, safety, compliance, and security standards
  • Evaluate feasibility for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), calculate time and cost impacts for in-house and vendor-driven changes with cross-functional teams, build a catalog of standard die spare parts, and join change control meetings to prioritize Model Y ECOs and modifications based on quality gains, cost savings, and key lessons learned
  • Guide suppliers through 3D die design updates to incorporate Engineering Change Orders, and collaborate with the engineering team on Die Modification Requests (DMRs) to enhance stamped panel quality, boosting fit in BIW and overall body precision
  • Dive into reports on die downtime and part quality to craft smart strategies for zero interruptions, shorter Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and superior part outcomes
  • Shape efficiency standards for ME Tool & Die systems, spotting opportunities and rolling out impactful improvements to keep operations smooth and innovative
  • Lead the technical side of die design, vendor buyoffs, and home line trials for new models, while skillfully interpreting AUTOFORM simulations to ensure top performance
  • Prepare and lead reviews of vendor die designs, patterns, cast models, and checking fixtures to cleverly sidestep potential production hurdles, and capture valuable lessons learned for fueling success in upcoming ventures

  • What You'll Bring

    • Bring a Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience backed by evidence of exceptional ability
    • Demonstrate hands-on experience collaborating across multiple groups of professionals and in automotive stamping or die manufacturing
    • Stay solidly organized with meticulous attention to detail, ready to tackle challenges with precision
    • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to turn obstacles into opportunities
    • Thrive under time pressure while working seamlessly alongside others in fast-paced settings
    • Master essential tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or Project, Jira, and Confluence, with exemplary verbal and written communication skills
    • Be fluent in German and/or English
    • Experience in CNC programming, surface reverse engineering, CAD software such as CATIA V5, large die design, AUTOFORM R12 or higher for process setup and compensation, handling dies for world-class appearance in production, managing multiple projects with smart prioritization considering team resources, and embracing occasional travel including international adventures
