OFCI Material & Equipment Project Manager
About the role
What to Expect
The OFCI (Owner-Furnished, Contractor-Installed) Material & Equipment Project Manager oversees and develops Electrical and Mechanical OFCI programs that manage the full lifecycle of owner-provided equipment and materials—from planning and procurement alignment through logistics, inspection, installation readiness, and turnover to installing contractors. This role bridges engineering, procurement, Construction Management, vendors, and field teams to ensure OFCI items arrive on time, meet technical specifications, and install without delaying the construction schedule. The Project Manager will also build an integrated OFCI management program for GFTX and eventually expand it to other sites.
What You’ll Do
- Fund and develop OFCI programs (headcount, logistics, storage, security, NETA testing, specialized rigging) and integrate with mechanical/electrical trades, procurement, engineering, and SPEC approval
- Maintain the OFCI onsite Material Inventory Tracker covering manufacturing progress, logistics, delivery schedules, and turnover dates
- Align OFCI deliveries with construction look-ahead schedules, site readiness, and installation windows in coordination with Construction Managers
- Serve as primary vendor liaison for manufacturing status, FAT dates, delivery commitments, and early escalation of lead-time, production, documentation, or shipping risks
- Coordinate incoming deliveries with site logistics/warehousing (routing, laydown, storage, handling) and verify documentation, labeling, packing lists, and damage inspections
- Manage quality and turnover documentation (shipping releases, FAT reports, C of Cs, O&M manuals, warranties, NCRs, punchlist) and support commissioning with required submittals and vendor start-up support
- Identify schedule, long-lead, vendor, and field-readiness risks early; drive mitigation plans and track cost impacts, change exposure, and damage-related scope gaps
What You’ll Bring
- Strong understanding of electrical construction, switchgear/power distribution, and commissioning workflows
- Proven ability to coordinate across engineering, procurement, vendors, and field teams
- Experience managing long-lead equipment on large construction or industrial projects
- Excellent scheduling, documentation, and communication skills
- Strong computer proficiency with the ability to build clear visual dashboards and presentation materials for leadership (e.g., Excel/Power BI/equivalent and PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage logistics, quality documentation, and contractor turnover for owner-furnished equipment
- Procurement experience and financial literacy preferred
