What to Expect

We are looking for a Product Owner to drive tax technology products for the Americas region, covering both North America and South America. You will own the roadmap and delivery of solutions that support indirect tax compliance, determination, reporting, and automation. You will work closely with Tax, Finance, and Engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for tax products serving the Americas (North and South America)
• Translate complex multi-country tax requirements into clear user stories and prioritized backlog items
• Apply deep knowledge of indirect tax across the region, including US sales & use tax, Canadian tax considerations, LATAM regimes, and cross-border scenarios
• Prioritize work based on compliance risk, business value, and regulatory deadlines
• Lead Agile ceremonies and partner with Engineering to deliver scalable, compliant solutions
• Monitor tax and e-invoicing regulatory changes across the Americas and assess product impact (including Vertex updates)
• Define success metrics (filing accuracy, automation rate, audit readiness) and drive continuous improvement
• Support UAT, localization, training, and regional rollouts

What You’ll Bring

• Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in Finance/Tax technology
• Strong hands-on experience with indirect tax in the Americas (North and/or South America)
• Proven ability to write user stories, manage backlogs, and work in Agile teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Fluency in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese highly preferred
• Hands-on experience configuring custom tax rules in Vertex and maintaining the Vertex tax engine is a significant plus and highly desired
• Experience with direct tax or payroll tax
• Knowledge of key country tax regimes and e-invoicing requirements across the Americas
• Familiarity with other tax engines (One Source, SAP Tax, etc.) or ERP tax modules
• Experience in multinational or multi-country tax environments
