About the role

What to Expect

This Manager role owns warehouse and material handling performance through people leadership. You set clear expectations, develop Supervisors, and drive consistent results in Safety,People, and Accuracy, while meeting operational and financial targets. You work cross-functionally to remove barriers, improve processes, and ensure production has what it needs without compromising the standard. Define and implement the operational strategy for your warehouse and material handling areas - translating production and business priorities into clear plans, priorities, and results through your team of Supervisors and leads.

What You’ll Do

  • As a Manager of Production Control Warehouses, you will have the responsibility to design and oversee material handing functions for warehouse and related logistics operations, ensuring standards are clear, consistent across shifts, and followed in practice
  • Set clear goals for each Supervisor, review performance regularly, and provide timely feedback on gaps and strong performance. Partner with support teams so issues are owned, actioned, and closed
  • Develop Supervisors and Leads who can run their areas with discipline, ownership, and accountability. Hold a high standard for how material is handled, stored, and moved so inventory records and floor conditions can be trusted
  • Safety: Lead a proactive safety culture across powered equipment and warehouse operations. Ensure leaders and associates follow safe work practices, report and close hazards, and maintain a workplace where people go home safe every shift
  • People: Hire, coach, and performance-manage to a high standard. Ensure every Supervisor has clear expectations, regular coaching, and the tools to lead their team. Build bench strength and address gaps early
  • Accuracy: Own execution quality in your operation so material and transactions are correct - right item, right place, right quantity. Partner with Inventory Control and Process Engineering to reduce recurring errors and strengthen process discipline
  • Own operational and financial KPI performance for your areas (including labor efficiency, trailer and overflow management, scrap reduction, transaction accuracy, downtime risk, and dock performance). Make targets visible, review trends, and drive countermeasures when off track. Maintain a consistent leadership rhythm: floor presence, standards reinforcement, issue escalation, Supervisor one-on-ones, and cross-functional problem solving

What You’ll Bring

  • 7-10 years as a material handling/logistics, supply chain manager in a manufacturing environment with multi-shift leadership of Supervisors (not only individual contributors) and a proven record of delivering safety, quality/accuracy, and cost/labor results
  • Ability to foster and develop a strong team of material handling personnel & leaders, setting clear expectations, coach on the floor, give direct feedback, and build Supervisors who hold the standard independently
  • Strong understanding the business of running a warehouse team, dock team, pickers and CDL driver team, including inbound/outbound operations, material flow, inventory transaction discipline, equipment safety, and dock/trailer management that protects production
  • Proven safety leadership in a warehouse or manufacturing logistics environment with powered industrial equipment. Stops unsafe acts, drives hazard and near-miss closure, and will not compromise safety for rate
  • Experience defining and implementing operational strategy in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing support environment - turning priorities into executable plans and measurable outcomes. Track record improving operational quality and inventory-related execution – implementation of effective and permanent countermeasures, not workarounds
  • Experience leading disciplined warehouse operations: visual standards, clean and organized work areas, consistent process adherence across shifts, and audit or layered-check rhythms. Strong root cause and continuous improvement mindset; comfortable leading cross-functional problem solving under production pressure
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience preferred. Lean or continuous improvement experience preferred
