What to Expect
The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of advanced manufacturing equipment. This role emphasizes technical leadership, maintenance, and repair of high-speed mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation, and robotics. The technician manages equipment breakdowns, provides guidance to team members, and supports shift supervisors in maintaining peak production performance.
What You’ll Do
- Assign and oversee maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to key performance indicators
- Conduct performance audits on 5S practices, workmanship quality, job site cleanliness, and time management while providing actionable feedback
- Implement and maintain escalation protocols for urgent equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on complex industrial and mechanical systems, including major repairs, rebuilds, and installations
- Collaborate with process and equipment engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability and optimize maintenance procedures
- Manage and optimize inventory of parts and supplies, including procurement, sourcing, and stock control
What You’ll Bring
- Proven proficiency in mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent technical training
- Advanced problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to diagnose root causes and implement effective long-term solutions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply detailed mechanical and electrical schematics while performing precise measurements and adjustments
- Strong commitment to safety, maintenance protocols, and quality standards
- Physically capable of performing demanding tasks in confined or challenging environments
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Potential exposure to confined spaces, elevated heat and hazardous materials
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, hearing protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
