About the role

What to Expect

We are seeking an experienced and people-oriented Supervisor to lead our data collection equipment team. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment- accountable for team performance, team development, and operational excellence. You will own day-to-day operations for the team, set clear priorities, develop talent, and partner cross-functionally to deliver high-quality prototype and production hardware. While you remain close to the work, this is a supervisory role with direct responsibility for people, processes, and results.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and supervise a team of equipment technicians assembling prototype and production-level data collection hardware- setting quality standards and holding the team accountable to them

  • Own shift planning and daily prioritization: assign work, balance workload, remove blockers, and ensure the team meets output, quality, and schedule commitments

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on shift for escalations, safety concerns, and stakeholder communications- resolving issues independently and escalating only when appropriate

  • Hire, onboard, coach, and develop team members; conduct performance feedback, address performance gaps, and build a pipeline of qualified talent

  • Facilitate training on assembly procedures, wire harness builds, and activities that are prototype in nature- ensuring consistent execution and continuously raising skill level across the group

  • Drive manufacturing best practices and standard work: own updates to procedures, reduce errors and downtime, and lead continuous improvement on the floor

  • Manage hardware issues end-to-end using internal tracking tools and uphold safety, 5S, and quality standards on the shift

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience supervising or leading teams in prototype and manufacturing environments- with direct accountability for people and results- 2+ years leadership experience preferred

  • Strong technical foundation in hardware assembly and of interactions between hardware and software, with the credibility to train others and set standards

  • Demonstrated people-leadership skills: coaching, delegation, performance management, and building an inclusive, high-trust team culture

  • Excellent communication skills- able to set direction for the team, escalate clearly to leadership, and represent the shift with cross-functional partners

  • Highly organized and dependable- able to manage competing priorities, plan capacity, and keep the team on track under pressure

  • Detail-oriented and proactive- you catch issues early, drive root-cause thinking, and close the loop on corrective actions

  • Comfort operating with ownership: you make decisions within your scope, propose solutions, and take responsibility for shift outcomes
