As a Software Engineer on the Robotaxi Experience team, you will design, prototype, and scale the core infrastructure that powers real-time data processing and distributed systems servicing multiple teams, ensuring exceptional Robotaxi performance and product quality. You will take ownership of high-impact problem spaces, including but not limited to real-time detection of adversarial scenarios, fleet demand visibility and distribution optimization, and AI-driven customer experience assurance. In this role, you will architect distributed services, design fault-tolerant and efficient systems, optimize large-scale compute workloads, and build robust data platforms that transform fleet telemetry streams into actionable insights. Your work will ensure that every customer experience is supported by resilient, scalable, and observable infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Translate interesting real-world problems into system requirements further into robust backend services

Design and build distributed systems that support Robotaxi fleet experience, real-time data ingestion, simulation workloads

Make thoughtful data storage decisions and architect efficient, evolvable data schemas that balance flexibility and performance across distributed systems

Implement observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing) to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve production issues

Develop scalable microservices, APIs, data pipelines to transform data into actionable insights and product features

What You'll Bring

2+ years of professional software development experience

Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Go, Python, C/C++, Java, Ruby, etc.)

Experience building high-throughput data pipelines and working with data storage in production environments

Hands-on experience with distributed compute systems (e.g., Kubernetes) and messaging systems (e.g.,Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Strong debugging, analysis and communication skills in cross-functional teams

Front-end or full stack experience is a plus

A passion for critical thinking, rapid prototyping, and building systems that operate reliably at scale

Expected Compensation

$140,000 - $396,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
