What To Expect
We are looking for a Data Project Manager to own the creation, scaling, and maintenance of AI datasets that train Tesla’s Optimus. You’ll manage data collection projects from start to finish, ensuring high quality, quantity, diversity, and alignment with our AI goals.

What You'll Do

Lead projects from planning to delivery through coordinating collection resources, troubleshooting and resolving bottlenecks, and making sure datasets meet requirements for AI development

Create and run regular data validation checks to catch errors or inconsistencies in the dataset. Fix issues fast and build processes to stop them from happening again

Optimize ways to collect more data, faster, without sacrificing quality. Automate repetitive tasks where it makes sense

Translate dashboards and metrics into plain English for stakeholders. Convey progress updates, what’s working, what’s not, and act upon those insights

Work with engineers, data collection operators, and more to communicate and prioritize data needs

Stay ahead of tools and trends in data collection. Propose and test out new technology and processes that could speed up workflows or improve dataset quality & diversity

What You'll Bring

Experience managing data-heavy projects (AI/ML datasets, large-scale collection, or data pipelines)

Comfort with JIRA, Excel, Confluence. Bonus points for SQL, Python, or data viz tools

Ability to rally teams, manage chaos, and hit deadlines without burning out yourself or your teammates

Experience creating and maintaining dashboards that provide stakeholders with important insights

Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments

Experience with robotics, autonomous systems, or sensor data a plus

Expected Compensation

$72,000 - $198,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
