What to Expect
We are building a strong internal rope access team and are looking for a solid Level 2 industrial climber with FISAT Level 2 or IRATA Level 2 certification.
You will carry out demanding rope access work at height and in confined spaces, apply advanced rigging techniques, assist in rescues, and deliver safe, high-quality results under the direction of a Level 3 Rope Access Supervisor.
As a key team member, you will work closely with the supervisor, EHS, and maintenance teams to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Safe and efficient execution of rope access maneuvers (vertical/horizontal access, traversing, deviations, re-belays, tensioned lines)
- Advanced rigging of working ropes (Y-hangs, pull-through systems, rope protection, horizontal lifelines)
- Performing and assisting in complex rescues (hauling systems, casualty retrieval from ascent/descent, past obstacles)
- Inspection, maintenance, proper use, and storage of personal and team rope access equipment (including pre-use and periodic checks per DGUV 312-906)
- Recognizing hazards on site, implementing corrective measures, and reporting directly to the Level 3 Supervisor
- Supporting the preparation and implementation of risk assessments, rescue plans, and method statements under supervision
- Conducting buddy-system checks, safety briefings/toolbox talks, and ensuring full compliance with FISAT/IRATA standards
- Documentation of work performed and equipment usage in the CMMS or site logs
- Mentoring and guiding Level 1 technicians during joint operations
- Close collaboration with EHS, engineering, maintenance teams, and external partners
- If no rope access work is ongoing, any other work will be assigned within the technical service team and scope
What You’ll Bring
- Valid FISAT Level 2 or IRATA Level 2 certification (mandatory)
- Proven experience in industrial rope access (minimum 1 year / ~1000 logged hours recommended, including advanced maneuvers and rescues)
- Solid knowledge of rope access equipment, knots, rigging methods, and rescue procedures
- Strong understanding of occupational safety regulations, PPE (PSAgA), and relevant standards (DGUV, FISAT/IRATA)
- Practical team experience, including buddy-system work and hazard recognition
- Reliable, physically fit, and highly safety-conscious
- Good communication skills – able to work under supervision while showing initiative on technical tasks
- Willingness for flexible working hours, occasional travel, and continuous training/certification maintenance
- Candidates are expected to uphold and actively promote sustainability principles in their daily work, operating in line with Tesla Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Policy and EMAS requirements, fostering a culture of continuous environmental improvement
