What to Expect
Consider before submitting an application:
This position is expected to start around August/September 2026 and continue through the Fall term (ending approximately December 2026) or longer if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the Team:
The Data Engineering team is building a state-of-the- art analytics platform for business and operation intelligence. At Tesla, we have enormous amounts of data and we want to give meaning to it and help business users to make data driven decisions. Our platform will allow users to answer "what", "when" and "how" questions as well as allow them to ask "what if?”. Interns will help design, develop, maintain and support our Enterprise Data Warehouse & BI platform within Tesla. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact to the entire organization by developing data tools and creating a data driven culture.
What You’ll Do
- Build awesome web experiences using React.js
- Plan and accommodate all mediums, screen sizes
and device types - Build flexible and customizable user interface
from the start - Promote good usability and accessibility in
every experience - Design web applications to display complex data
in digestible form - Be nimble and react quickly to changing business
conditions - Work with Product Managers, Content Producers,
QA Engineers and Release Engineers to own solution from development to
production
What You’ll Bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology or a related field of study and graduating between - 2026-2027
- Able to work on site in Austin, TX
- Ability to develop rich, interactive, and
well-performing user interfaces using React.js - Inclined to building complex, highly scalable,
responsive, and loosely coupled consumer-facing web applications to support
users at scale - Expertise in web technologies: Python, Flask,
- JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap
- Preferred experience: charting libraries like d3
or Echarts, creating pure web components and creating reusable npm components - Experience in writing unit test cases (Jest,
- Jasmine) for performance and functionality testing is a plus
- Experience with source control management
git/bitbucket and standard CICD tools using docker and Kubernetes is plus
