About the role

What to Expect

We are seeking a Cell Materials Engineering Technician to join a cross functional cell engineering team. In this role, the technician will perform chemical analysis and materials characterization while supporting battery materials R&D and engineering projects. The position requires hands-on work in a chemistry lab environment, including operation of analysis instruments, coin cell fabrication, and cell testing.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate chemical analysis and materials characterization instruments to deliver results to the engineering team
  • Prepare chemical and material samples for analysis and evaluation
  • Fabricate standard electrodes for material level coin cell testing
  • Build and test coin cells, three electrode cells, and pouch cells
  • Document sample preparation processes and analysis results in an organized manner

What You’ll Bring

  • Report process or lab issues and support identification of solutions
  • Maintain lab organization and perform routine upkeep tasks
  • Safely handle hazardous materials
  • Operate XRD, TGA, FTIR, PSA, BET, and SEM instruments
  • Perform wet slurry processing and electrode fabrication
  • Conduct cell fabrication and testing
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Experience working with air sensitive materials or battery materials
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools
