
Engineering Technician, Optimus
About the role
What to Expect
This person will be responsible for building, reworking, and maintaining auxiliary Optimus components. The primary objectives of this role are to collect data, assist with engineering operations, and report equipment feedback. Demonstrate ability to utilize process improvements, increasing individual and team efficiency.
What You’ll Do

Perform data collection tasks such as manipulation of objects, walk pre-determined routes, follow testing guidelines and test protocols at Tesla facilities and in public environments

Wear motion capture equipment while performing designated movements and actions based on project requirements

Carry out installs and service fixes on auxiliary Optimus components

Build Mechanical & Electrical tooling assemblies & subassemblies & carry out validation

Lead field trials of prototype tools and procedures

Carry out RCA on faulty incoming tools from the field

General shop maintenance & upkeep

Maintain a clean and organized work environment
What You’ll Bring

Continuous hand/eye coordination and fine manipulation, body coordination, and kinesthetic awareness and ability to walk up/downstairs

Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Use of MS Office tools and other systems to effectively communicate results/failures (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Jira)

Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail

Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required

Ability to travel up to 30%
