About the role

What to Expect

In this position, you will work as a member of Tesla Facilities Quality and Commissioning for electrical systems. The primary role is to ensure that installation methods and materials used are compliant with Tesla standards and the National Electrical Code. In addition, the role requires acting as a lead during testing of line voltage for equipment, ensuring proper procedures are followed. The position is mostly ‘boots on the ground,’ requiring an in-field presence with some reporting and data collection performed both manually and electronically.

A successful candidate must have the ability to work independently, possess strong communication and coordination skills, be detail-oriented, and have availability/flexibility with working hours. They must be able to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with Tesla and contractor teams at various levels across the company.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspection/verification of electrical systems to ensure installations meet or exceed Tesla standards and NEC
  • Generate QA/QC & Commissioning reports, as well as Emergency Electrical Event reports
  • Check the condition of new electrical equipment upon arrival on site or inspect electrical equipment conditions following an electrical event, as required. Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) upon request
  • Create and communicate lists of installation deficiencies and audit corrective actions
  • Work with installation teams to commission equipment and log readings
  • Coach and audit installation teams to follow Tesla Safety standards for testing energized equipment and LOTO procedures

What You’ll Bring

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license
  • Minimum 10 years of experience installing electrical systems
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory position installing electrical systems
  • Familiarity with NFPA70E and knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Knowledge of permitted use for listed materials
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Willingness to work off-shift, weekends, and holidays as necessary
