The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

Role Overview:

The Manager Vendor Solutions (Level 5) executes vendor management strategies within defined governance frameworks, ensuring vendor compliance, performance tracking, and effective issue resolution. This individual contributor role has no direct reports and is responsible for a defined vendor portfolio within Vendor Management Team (VMT) governance routines, including contract management, vendor engagement, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own contract lifecycle management for a defined vendor portfolio, including renewals, notice windows, contract repository accuracy, stakeholder follow-up, and support for contract negotiations.
  • Manage day-to-day vendor relationships and ensure adherence to contract terms, KPIs, service levels, performance targets, and documented commitments.
  • Lead core vendor governance routines, including Vendor Business Reviews (VBRs), Vendor Health Assessments (VHAs), scorecards, dashboards, and performance reporting.
  • Monitor vendor performance, identify risks and trends, escalate issues as needed, and drive follow-through through resolution.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborate across Legal, Procurement, Finance, Engineering & Asset Management, and other partner teams to support vendor operations and business outcomes.
  • Independently manage assigned vendor actions from intake through resolution, including timeline management, issue escalation, fact-based recommendations, and communication to the appropriate level of vendor and Target leadership.
  • Contribute to standardized vendor governance, executive-ready documentation, and enterprise vendor initiatives, including support for Supplier Summits, top-to-top meetings, Customer Advisory Boards (CABs), Executive Briefing Center (EBC) visits, conferences, and trade shows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, supply chain operations, or a related field.
  • Curiosity and learning agility, including proactively learning assigned vendors, technologies, contracts, stakeholders, and industry trends, then translating that learning into better questions, risk insights, and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, vendor, procurement, contract, and access management systems such as VNDLY, Procore, and Ariba.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% for conferences, professional development, vendor site visits, and vendor business reviews.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
