JOB DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Technician performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related systems. This is an entry-level position that works under the guidance of more experienced technicians and supervisors, providing opportunities to develop skills in various building trades.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, under supervision.

• Maintain grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and trash removal.

• Perform basic repairs to building structures, such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows.

• Operate and maintain basic hand and power tools and equipment safely and effectively.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

• Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Respond to maintenance requests and address issues promptly and efficiently.

• Assist with setting up and tearing down for events or meetings.

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• Basic troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
