Now, we are looking for a Merchandising Finance Manager to join our team. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping to maintain our purpose – connecting the world through food and taking care of one another.
Key Accountabilities:

Financial management and oversight of the Merchandising function, providing the necessary support to the Merchandising leadership team to deliver our growth ambitions

Provide a strong financial control environment, ensuring robust and accurate governance

Partner closely with Finance leaders in the wider Finance function, working collaboratively to report and explain results

Function as an independent adviser to the Executive leadership team

Supporting the Merchandising team to optimise our performance through accurate analysis, which is data driven and practical. Understand and drive commercial performance by identifying, owning and developing the commercial KPI’s and related dashboards and reports

Continue to drive for automated solutions in reporting and planning to help find efficiencies, accuracy & insight. Lead team in continuously identifying and driving process and reporting improvements bringing added value to business partners and enhancing end to end visibility

Supporting with negotiations on key contracts with external vendors, alongside the Category and Trading teams

Engage in SKU reviews, promotional planning, rebates & commercial tenders

Working with the Procurement and Supply Chain teams to understand cost of supply for all products. Strong focus on cost of goods reporting and associated variance analysis

Assessing the end-to-end financial impact of ad hoc projects and initiatives, drawing on a broad network and playing a key role in the decision-making process

Ensuring project teams maintain financial diligence at every stage of project delivery, from initiation and business case creation, cost control throughout programme delivery, benefits realisation, and post implementation review

Develop and support direct reports to meet agreed performance objectives and ways of working; identify and progress areas for personal development aligned to the Sysco purpose

Manage the month-end financial reporting process for related financial statement areas and adhere to reporting timelines

Manage the periodic and ad hoc reporting requirements of local commercial and financial information and metrics to the wider Sysco International and Corporate functions

Support ad hoc projects and requests as required
Key Attributes Required:
-
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with minimum 3+ years PQE of relevant multi-national experience in a fast-paced environment, including people management experience

Previous experience in delivered foodservice or FMCG industries would be helpful

A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of industry trends, competitors and customers would be desirable for this role

Excellent communication and framing skills

Ability to work on own initiative and to influence effectively at all levels of the organisation

Creative & innovative individual with a continuous improvement mind set, with the ability to maintain and further enhance controls and process
-
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
-
High competency in MS Excel and database systems

Experience of Microsoft ERPs an advantage but not essential
