Who we are, and what we offer:
Swimlane is redefining security operations with Agentic AI automation that empowers organizations to work smarter, respond faster, and stay ahead of threats. Our low-code platform combines automation, orchestration, and intelligent reasoning to unlock true operational autonomy across the modern SOC.
At Swimlane, we put people first. We foster a culture of innovation, trust, and continuous improvement—where your ideas matter and your work drives meaningful change. Join us and help build the next era of Agentic AI-powered security operations.
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Security Content Engineer to join our core Product Engineering team. You will be instrumental in solving one of our key strategic challenges: dramatically increasing the velocity of our content—specifically, the reusable components and connectors that serve as the foundational building blocks for playbooks within the Swimlane Turbine platform.
In this role, you will be deeply focused on designing, developing, and operating scalable, productized, and highly reusable security automation solutions. Your work will directly empower our Sales Engineering and Professional Services teams to accelerate Proof-of-Value (POV) and deployment cycles, and, most critically, will help our customers overcome the steep learning curve by providing an immediate, robust library of content.
Your primary canvas will be Swimlane Turbine, our breakthrough AI-enhanced, low-code security automation platform. You will leverage Turbine’s visual playbook builder, composable dashboards, and robust case management to create building blocks for end-to-end SOC analyst workflows and use cases—like alert triage, enrichment, analysis, containment, and case management—that are made available to all Swimlane customers.
We are seeking a candidate with a unique hybrid background: deep experience in security operations (like a SOC or IR) combined with a strong engineering and automation-first mindset. Your key motivation will be achieving product and business outcomes by translating complex security processes into intuitive, powerful, and easy-to-use automation products.
What you'll do
-
Own the Content Library: Design, develop, and maintain a library of complete, reusable, and customer-agnostic security components, connectors, and playbooks for the Swimlane Turbine platform.
-
Drive Velocity & Quality: Convert proof of concepts, customer requirements, and product ideas into highly functional, scalable, and maintainable content solutions for our product marketplace at a high cadence.
-
Collaborate for Impact: Interact directly with key stakeholders across Sales Engineering and Professional Services to understand their content needs, gather feedback, and ensure the deployed building blocks meet the highest standards for reusability and utility.
-
Integrate AI: Incorporate Agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) into security content, leveraging Turbine’s capabilities to automate complex decision-making within components and playbooks.
-
Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a key subject matter expert on core security domains and the practical application of automation, AI, and LLMs in security operations.
-
Platform Mastery: Master the Swimlane Turbine platform, using its low-code canvas to build sophisticated automation playbooks, custom user interfaces, and insightful dashboards.
Requirements:
-
BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a technology-related degree, or equivalent work experience.
-
Strong software development or automation background, with proficiency in Python and/or Javascript. Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization, with a focus on security-related use-cases is essential.
-
Deep knowledge of the security ecosystem, including technologies like SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management, and Threat Intelligence Platforms. This is critical for building content that integrates with these tools.
-
Proven, hands-on experience in a security operations role (e.g., Incident Responder, Threat Engineer) and/or experience as a SOC Analyst or Security Architect would be a major bonus.
-
Practical understanding of AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic frameworks, and tool-calling (e.g., MCP frameworks).
-
Commercial experience applying AI to solve specific security use cases would be a major bonus (e.g., phishing analysis, threat hunting, SIEM alert triage, or vulnerability prioritization).
-
A "builder's mindset" with a passion for designing and creating products that solve real-world security challenges.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with global cross-functional teams.

Best software for flowcharts for complex workflows (not basic tools)
Our manager recently assigned me to map out some gnarly user flows and system integrations. We have a basic diagramming tool, but it just doesn't cut it when we're dealing with multiple touchpoints and cross-functional handoffs. Looking for something that can handle complex workflows without becoming a mess. If it plays nicely with several PM tools and has a short learning curve, the better.

New standard for documenting serial (and other) protocols
Hi everyone, I've worked a lot of different places and the documentation for the serial protocols we used, as well as for third party devices where... bad. Everyone does it differently and the formats used are all over the place. Some use offsets from the start of the packet, some are in bits, some in bytes, some make you look up the sizes of things from a different document. Some are word doc's with tables in tables, other are plane text document, and of course some have no doc's at all. S
