Jobs
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're looking for a VC Partnerships Lead to own Supabase's relationships with the global venture capital community. Reporting to the Startup Programs Manager within our Partnerships team (part of Growth), you'll be responsible for making Supabase the default infrastructure choice for venture-backed startups, particularly those building at the intersection of Postgres and AI.
This role is designed for someone who has experience in the venture capital ecosystem, and preferably an existing network. We strongly prefer former founders and operators who understand how to build and scale early-stage companies. You'll bridge the worlds of venture capital, startup founders, and developer infrastructure to create meaningful impact across thousands of companies.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
VC RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
-
Own relationships with Tier 1 & 2 venture firms globally, serving as Supabase's primary point of contact with GPs and MDs
-
Develop partnership strategies with top-tier VCs to create preferred paths for their portfolio companies to adopt Supabase
-
Build systematic engagement programs that provide ongoing value to VC partners that drive adoption and engagement with the Supabase product
-
Create and maintain a strategic account plan for key venture relationships with clear success metrics
-
Facilitate warm introductions and coordinate technical resources for portfolio companies
STARTUP PROGRAM EVOLUTION:
-
Scale the "Supabase for Startups" program to support thousands of seed-stage, venture-backed, and accelerator-backed startups
-
Design and implement credit packages, technical support tiers, and resource bundles that drive adoption and retention
-
Build scalable systems and processes for program enrollment, benefits delivery, and success tracking
-
Develop program playbooks and enablement materials that can be leveraged by Regional Partnerships Associates
-
Monitor program health metrics and continuously optimize based on startup feedback and business impact
EVENT & COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP:
-
Lead the strategy and execution of marquee GTM events targeting founders and investors at major industry touchpoints
-
Represent Supabase at VC conferences, demo days, and startup ecosystem events
-
Create high-value programming that brings together investors, founders, and the Supabase team
-
Coordinate with marketing on event promotion, content creation, and follow-up campaigns
-
Build Supabase's brand presence within the investor community
FOUNDER ADVOCACY & PRODUCT FEEDBACK:
-
Serve as an escalation point for startup partners and founders facing technical or program challenges
-
Gather systematic feedback from the startup ecosystem and synthesize insights for Product and Engineering teams
-
Advocate internally for startup-critical features and improvements to the product roadmap
-
Build feedback loops that ensure startup voices are heard in product decisions
-
Track and share success stories and case studies from venture-backed companies
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
-
Partner with Sales to support enterprise pipeline development through VC-backed startup growth
-
Work with Regional Partnerships Associates to ensure consistent program delivery globally
-
Coordinate with Marketing on campaigns, content, and events targeting the venture ecosystem
-
Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure white-glove treatment for strategic startup partners
-
Share best practices and insights with the broader Partnerships and Growth teams
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
-
3-4 years of experience in partnerships, business development, startup operations, or ecosystem roles within the tech/startup space
-
Deep understanding of the venture capital ecosystem, what matters to investors, and how VCs support their portfolio companies
-
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (GP/MD level or equivalent)
-
Experience building and scaling programs that serve hundreds or thousands of participants
-
Track record of executing high-impact events or community initiatives
-
Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to executive audiences
-
Comfortable working in a remote-first, asynchronous environment with distributed teams
STRONGLY PREFERRED
-
Prior experience in venture capital, or working within the VC ecosystem
-
Ex-founder, or 2+ years working at an early-stage startup (seed through Series B)
-
Existing relationships within the Tier 1 VC community that could be leveraged
-
Technical literacy: ability to discuss architecture, databases (especially Postgres), APIs, and AI/ML infrastructure at a solutions-oriented level
-
Experience with developer tools, open source communities, or infrastructure products
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
-
Founders-first mindset: Genuine empathy for the founder journey and commitment to helping startups succeed
-
Builder mentality: You don't just execute—you design systems, create processes, and build for scale
-
Intellectually curious: You stay current on startup trends, AI developments, and database technologies
-
Process-driven: You value documentation, asynchronous communication, and continuous improvement ("Kaizen")
-
Comfortable with ambiguity: You can operate independently while knowing when to seek guidance
-
Results-oriented: You're motivated by impact metrics and seeing startups succeed with Supabase
-
Collaborative: You work well across teams and actively share knowledge and insights
LOCATION & LOGISTICS:
-
Remote-first (global, with preference for timezone overlap with US for VC engagement
-
Silicon Valley preferred)
-
Expect travel up to 20% for events, VC meetings, and team offsites
-
Occasional attendance required at major industry events (Supabase Select, YC Demo Days, AWS re:Invent, etc.)
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a We Work membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.

- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

Love Supabase, but the $25/mo pricing tier killed my side projects. My migration path to self-hosted SQLite.
I have been a huge fan of Supabase for years. The Developer Experience (DX) is incredible, and I default to it for almost everything. But recently, I hit a wall with my portfolio of small apps. Once I passed the free tier limits on two projects (mostly storage and database egress), the bill jumpe

Supabase vs Convex vs Neon
I know this appeared in multiple threads in the past but I would like to ask for latest state as things move so fast and also specifically on my situation for my NextJs app. I started a MVP with Supabase. Did a bunch of development, features experiments and the tables and schema grew messy. Before
