At Stryker, every role is vital to our mission to make healthcare better. Our collaborative environment champions growth and opportunity, ensuring that every member of our team is equipped to contribute to our collective goal.
Join us and be at the forefront of making healthcare better for everyone, everywhere.
In your internship at a globally leading medical technology company, you’ll be right in the middle of the action: The Stryker Sports Medicine team in Freiburg develops patient-specific solutions to support clinical decision-making for indications that can be treated with minimally invasive joint surgery.
As a master student in the team, you will perform research to advance the Sports Medicine patient-specific solution offering. You will investigate and implement novel analysis methods, evaluate the results (statistical data analysis), and compare the results with the literature.
Our offer to you
-
As a valued member of our international Sports Medicine R&D team, you support the advancement of image-based enabling technologies.
-
You perform independent research in which you work with three-dimensional models and image data and evaluate ideas that will assist in pre-operative planning.
-
You will gain insights into how research supports defining solutions for new product development in the medical device industry.
-
You will enhance your scripting skills by automating your developed approaches and evaluations and allow for efficient processing of data.
This is what makes you stand out
-
Academic Pursuit: You are currently pursuing a biomedical engineering or a related engineering degree and are actively seeking a master’s thesis project for a 6-month duration.
-
Technical Drive: Your passion lies in expanding your technical expertise, particularly in areas such as 3D image analysis, segmentation, scripting/programming, and data/statistical analysis.
-

-
Clinical Insight: Ideally, you possess a solid grasp of clinical concepts and have prior research experience, enabling you to work independently.
-
Effective Communication: Your strong spoken and written English skills empower you to confidently engage in our international environment and successfully complete your master’s thesis in scientific English.
Please note: The project deals with current and sensitive development topics, so a confidentiality agreement (Sperrvermerk) will be required.
Duration of your internship: 6 months (full-time)
Type of internship: We offer voluntary internships alongside your studies, compulsory internships/practical semesters, and a combination of both
When you start with us: October 2026
