About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Photographer to join our vehicle engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting engineering projects by capturing high-quality still photographs and high-speed video footage of vehicles, components, and testing processes. This position requires technical expertise in photography and videography, a collaborative approach, and the ability to work in a dynamic industrial environment. Flexibility needed in working different shifts on occasion or longer-term assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture clear, high-resolution still photographs of vehicles, prototypes, assemblies, and engineering tests for documentation, analysis, and presentation purposes.

  • Operate high-speed video cameras to record vehicle tests and dynamic events, ensuring critical moments are captured for detailed engineering review.

  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers to understand specific imaging requirements and adapt techniques to best support engineering objectives.

  • Set up and calibrate lighting, backdrops, and camera equipment in laboratory, workshop, and outdoor environments to achieve optimal image quality.

  • Edit, process, and catalog photographic and video assets, ensuring accurate labeling and secure storage for future reference and compliance needs.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot photographic and video equipment, including high-speed cameras, lenses, lighting, and supporting hardware.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during all photographic activities within industrial and test environments.

  • Support presentations, reports, and technical publications by providing visual content that effectively communicates engineering findings and solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in photography, Visual Arts, Media Production, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, high-speed video cameras, and image/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro).

  • Understanding of vehicle engineering processes, testing environments, and the unique challenges of industrial photography.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Physical ability to safely operate equipment and work in industrial settings (e.g., standing for long periods, lifting equipment, working outdoors, and the usage of hand/power tools to install photographic equipment on test vehicles).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of proven experience in industrial, automotive, or technical photography, with a strong portfolio demonstrating still photographs and high-speed video work.

  • Experience with specialized imaging techniques such as time-lapse, macro, and infrared photography.

  • Familiarity with data security and digital asset management practices.

  • Background in engineering, automotive testing, or related technical fields.
