Who we are looking for
Join the Financial Reporting team and direct the reporting cycles and filings of various clients. You will ensure that client financial statements are in accordance with the rules and regulations that drive financial statement disclosures and other regulatory filings. You will manage the preparation and review of client quarterly, semi-annual and annual financial statements, regulatory filings and other periodic reporting by our staff and our offshore teams. You will engage with clients, auditors and other State Street teams to resolve issues and answer inquiries to ready client financial statements and filings for finalization.

What you will be responsible for
As Financial Reporting, Assistant Vice President you will
- Manage a diverse group of personnel involved in the preparation of interim / annual financial statements for alternative investments products (e.g. hedge, private equity, real estate, fund of funds, business development companies).
- Lead, direct and manage the department in collaboration with your manager and senior colleagues
- Act as the primary point of escalation for clients with responsibility for implementing and supporting the service requirements of the various client relationships serviced within the group
- Work internally in allocating clients and resources within the team
- Collaborate with the clients and colleagues globally as appropriate to service clients and/or projects
- Responsible for the effective recruitment, training, development and retention of a team of managers who are responsible for meeting their client’s financial reporting needs and effectively managing their team members
- Develop and retain personal and team talent.
- Act as a source of technical support and guidance to the team, other State Street internal teams and the client. This includes reviewing of files prepared by the teams.
- Work with other members of the team in setting individual and team targets and priorities; maintain high standards of client service; conduct performance appraisals and give feedback on individual and team performance
- Effective messaging and communication
- Participate in team specific and department wide projects as required from time to time
- Perform other duties as required in order to meet client and department deliverables/goals

- Experience managing a team.

- Knowledge of Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements and laws as they apply to investment companies, Trusts, Partnerships and other fund structures.
- Ability to effectively handle and resolve numerous ongoing communications and reporting deliverables in fast paced environment.
- Ability to drive change and process improvements, while managing day-to-day activities in a reporting cycle.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial statements, regulatory disclosures and process improvements (standardization of disclosures and automation).
- Ability to effectively manage a team of professionals, planning out work and resource allocation. Provide feedback and development.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA or MBA is preferred.
- Six or more years of experience in alternative funds fund administration function (financial reporting preferred) or accounting, audit or related business activity.
Salary Range:
$91,000 - $140,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
