Who we are looking for A Software Development Engineer to work on the Gold Copy (GCE) platform within the Transaction Services domain. Gold Copy is a mission-critical data processing and reconciliation platform supporting both Middle Office and Back Office functions. The role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working on large-scale, high-volume transaction systems with strong ownership from design through production support. Why this role is important to us Gold Copy is State Street’s strategic data processing and enrichment platform, responsible for ingesting, validating, enriching, and reconciling transaction and reference data across multiple upstream and downstream systems. It plays a key role in enabling straight-through processing, operational resilience, and regulatory-grade data quality for Investment Management clients. The platform processes high-volume, time-sensitive financial data, supports complex exception workflows, and operates under strict availability, accuracy, and audit requirements. Enhancing and maintaining Gold Copy directly contributes to client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and risk reduction across the firm. What you will be responsible for As an Application Developer, you will: · Work closely with business analysts, product owners, and global engineering teams to gather and clarify functional and technical requirements. · Design and implement solutions for new features, enhancements, and regulatory changes on the Gold Copy platform. · Analyze production data, logs, and metrics to validate solutions and ensure functional correctness. · Develop high-quality, maintainable code following enterprise engineering standards. · Apply TDD, CI/CD, and automated testing practices throughout the software development lifecycle. · Support UAT, production deployment, and ongoing production issues, including incident analysis and remediation. · Communicate delivery status, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders. · Meet aggressive delivery timelines while maintaining system stability and data integrity.

What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role: · 3+ years of experience in Java / J2EE application development. · Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, including common design patterns. · Solid experience with relational databases and SQL. · Experience with modern platforms and technologies such as: Spring / Spring Boot, Messaging systems (MQ, Kafka), Cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker and Kubernetes · Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks. · Familiarity with front-end technologies is a plus (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Angular, React). · Experience working in an Agile / Scrum development environment. · Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability. · Knowledge of financial transaction processing, reconciliation, or data platforms is a strong plus. · A proactive team player with clear and effective communication skills. Education & Preferred Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. · Good oral and written English communication skills.
