The Senior Software Engineer will work on developing new Java middle tier/server-side functionality for the system with some involvement in front-end development. This position will involve new product development and requires financial software experience or alternatively a strong understanding and interest in financial markets.
This is an opportunity to work within a very strong, senior level engineering team and help to develop challenging new products in the financial space.
This job is a hybrid role with at 3 days in the office per week, which you can perform from our offices in Krakow and Gdansk.
Your new role
As a Senior Software Developer you will:
- Contribute as a Sr. Individual Contributor within a team of top engineers
- Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements using Java, SQL.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers
- Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues
- Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality product.
- Conduct manual tests to ensure a high-quality product.
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities to complete assignments.
- Mentoring and guiding on designs to Junior Engineers
- Demonstrate more independence of design and development.Stack: Java, Microservices, SQL, Azure Cloud
What we value
Desired skills and competencies:
- 4-8 years of experience in Java development - preferably in the Fin Tech (financial markets) area
- B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.
- **Knowledge of SQL and experience with RBDMS (application development / transactional processing)Minimum Salary:**

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
