Purpose
The Assistant Vice President – Regulatory Reporting is responsible for end‑to‑end ownership, oversight, and transformation of regulatory reporting processes, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely submission of regulatory returns to global and local regulators.
The role requires deep expertise across regulatory frameworks, Artificial intelligence, BI tools, complex data flows, data lineage, controls, and governance, combined with strong transformation and technology experience. The AVP will act as a key stakeholder interface with regulators, internal senior management, technology and audit, while driving continuous improvement, automation, and control enhancement across the regulatory reporting framework.
Responsibilities & Tasks Include
Regulatory Reporting & Framework Ownership
- Complete and accurate preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to applicable regulators.
- Perform reconciliations across products, reports and schedules.
- Analyze financial data to complete filings, understand fluctuations and uncover potential inaccuracies
- Provide end‑to‑end oversight of regulatory reporting processes, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions to applicable regulators.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory reporting frameworks, governance standards, and internal control requirements across all reports.
- Review, challenge, and approve regulatory submissions prior to filing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Data Flow, Lineage & Controls
- Demonstrate strong understanding of complex end‑to‑end data flows, including source systems, reporting engines, and final regulatory outputs.
- Own and enhance data lineage documentation, ensuring transparency from source to submission.
- Design, implement, and monitor robust control frameworks, including reconciliations, variance analysis, issue tracking, and remediation.
- Oversee source system to General Ledger reconciliations and cross‑report consistency checks.
Analysis, Review & Issue Resolution
- Perform analytical review of regulatory data, identifying trends, anomalies, and root causes of issues.
- Lead resolution of data quality, control breaks, and reporting issues, including engagement with upstream data providers and business teams.
Transformation & Technology Enablement
- Lead regulatory reporting transformation initiatives, including process reengineering, AI automation, and simplification.
- Partner with Technology, Data, and Change teams to implement and upgrade regulatory reporting platforms and tools (e.g., Axiom, Abacus, or equivalent).
- Act as a SME for technology upgrades, UAT, data model changes, and post‑implementation stabilization.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and strengthen automated processing.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Interaction
- Serve as a point of contact for regulators, responding to regulatory queries, examinations, and ad‑hoc information requests.
- Engage proactively with senior stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, IT, Audit, and Business.
- Present regulatory reporting status, risks, and remediation plans to management and governance forums.
Governance, Documentation & Change Management
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess impact on existing reporting processes and data architecture.
- Lead implementation of new or revised regulatory requirements, including impact assessment, change delivery, and controls.
- Ensure procedures, methodologies, and documentation are maintained to a high standard and are audit‑ready.
- Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Chartered accountant with 10+ years of experience in Regulatory Reporting, Finance, or Financial Services.
- Strong hands‑on experience with end‑to‑end regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Proven experience managing complex data environments, controls, and regulatory interactions.
- Demonstrated success leading regulatory reporting transformation and technology upgrades.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including interaction with regulators.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environment.
- Proven leadership in driving changes, problem solving, and process improvement.

Skills / Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements, forms, and governance frameworks.
- Experience in building Artificial Intelligence solutions, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and Power Automate–based workflow automation.
- High level of interpersonal skills and integrity.
- Advanced understanding of data lineage, data controls, reconciliations, and reporting architecture.
- Experience with regulatory reporting systems (e.g., Axiom, Abacus, or similar platforms).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; strong working knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
- Ability to use Bloomberg terminal as a research tool.
- Ability to transform a business need into a visual representation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets; SQL knowledge is a strong advantage.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience working within global regulatory environments and multi‑jurisdiction reporting models.
