About the role

The Conversion Execution Lead is the central command and control role for complex conversion events. This role owns real‑time orchestration, execution discipline, and cross‑workstream synchronization across all phases of conversion—planning, testing, dress rehearsals, and production go‑lives.

Acting as the single operational voice during conversion events, the MC ensures the runbook is executed precisely, dependencies are respected, risks are surfaced early, and leadership has continuous situational awareness. This role enables Conversion Leads and SMEs to focus on decision‑making and issue resolution while maintaining flawless execution cadence.

Why this role is important to us:

The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Alpha Professional Services, launched in 2019. Alpha is the growth strategy for State Street and we’re investing in and delivering on innovative next generation solutions.

Join us if delivering next generation infrastructure, using emerging technologies like public cloud, microservices, snowflake and AI are what you are up for.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conversion Orchestration (Core Function)

  • Serve as the Master of Ceremonies during conversion events, including dress rehearsals and production weekends.
  • Run the conversion call:
  • Call out each step in the runbook
  • Confirm prerequisites and sign‑offs
  • Grant go/no‑go approvals in coordination with Conversion Leads
  • Enforce sequencing, timing, and dependency management across all workstreams.
  • Maintain strict execution discipline to prevent out‑of‑order or premature activities.

2.

Runbook Ownership & Readiness:

  • Own and curate the end‑to‑end conversion runbook (across FO/MO/BO)
  • Ensure runbooks are:
  • Complete, version‑controlled, and validated
  • Clearly owned at each step
  • Aligned to actual system behavior (not theoretical flows)
  • Drive readiness checkpoints ahead of damp runs, dry runs, and go‑live.

3. Cross‑Workstream Coordination

  • Act as the single coordination layer across:
  • Conversion execution
  • Account Services / Implementation
  • Technology & Data
  • Operations & Reconciliation
  • Manage handoffs across regions and time zones to ensure uninterrupted coverage.
  • Resolve ambiguity in ownership, sequencing, or expectations before execution windows.

4. Real‑Time Risk & Issue Management

  • Monitor execution in real time and proactively identify:
  • Schedule drift
  • Missing inputs or approvals
  • Downstream impact risks
  • Drive structured escalation:
  • What happened
  • Impact
  • Decision required
  • Recommended path forward
  • Maintain calm, controlled command presence during high‑pressure situations.

5. Governance, Communication & Reporting

  • Provide clear, concise, real‑time status updates to leadership during conversion events.
  • Maintain RAID logs, decision logs, and execution notes.
  • Ensure all deviations from plan are documented with rationale and approvals.
  • Support post‑conversion debriefs and lessons‑learned capture.

6.

Mentorship & Execution Standards:

  • Coach junior coordinators and execution resources on:
  • Conversion discipline
  • Runbook rigor
  • Effective escalation
  • Drive consistency and repeatability across multiple conversions.
  • Act as a guardian of conversion best practices and execution standards.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Deep experience supporting or leading large‑scale system or data conversions.
  • Strong understanding of investment operations and record‑keeping platforms
  • Exceptional ability to manage complex execution under time pressure.
  • Authoritative communication style—clear, calm, and decisive.
  • Strong stakeholder management across senior leadership, technology, and operations.

Education and experience requirement(s):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration/Management or related field; plus
  • 7-10 years of relevant financial industry experience

Additional requirements

  • This is a leadership position and will be expected to bring the regional and global teams together to collaborate across current and future deals
