State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”) is seeking a Head of Product Implementation, Managing Director to build and lead a global Product Implementation function within the Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization.

The role reports to the Global Head of Product Technology and Business Services and is responsible for coordinating the operational build and launch of new products in close partnership with the Chief Business Officer (CBO) Product Innovation team.

This is a senior, global leadership role accountable for translating product strategy into executable operating models. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders across the COO, risk, compliance, technology, and State Street Bank to ensure new product initiatives are delivered in a scalable, controlled, and timely manner.

The Product Implementation team is responsible for assessing the capabilities required to support new product ideas, defining end‑to‑end operating models, and coordinating delivery across internal functions, service providers, and strategic partners.

The ideal candidate combines deep product and implementation experience, strong executive‑level stakeholder engagement skills, and a thorough understanding of traditional investment fund structures and vehicles, alongside experience with emerging digital‑native and tokenized products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and scale a global Product Implementation function to accelerate the delivery of new product innovation.
  • Develop a robust, repeatable framework to assess new product proposals against organizational capabilities, risk, and readiness.
  • Define and maintain end‑to‑end product operating models, solution blueprints, and aligned technology investment roadmaps.
  • Partner with product, technology, risk, compliance, and operations leaders to ensure seamless execution from product design through launch.
  • Lead cross‑functional coordination across the COO, bank functions, service providers, and external partners to deliver scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Own and maintain a transparent product delivery roadmap, with clear prioritization, dependencies, and governance.
  • Support enterprise‑wide strategic planning, innovation initiatives, and change management efforts.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and financial solutions, including digital assets and tokenization.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing team of solution architects and product implementation professionals.
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, regulators, and boards.
  • Operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments with a results‑oriented mindset, sound judgment, and resilience.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in financial services, with significant leadership experience across product development, operations, and technology.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling product development or implementation functions in global organizations, with clear operating models and governance.
  • Deep understanding of investment fund structures and vehicles across asset classes, including mutual funds, trusts, exchange‑traded products, alternatives, and interval funds.
  • Experience with digital assets, tokenization, or digital‑native product structures preferred.
  • Strong program and project management discipline, with high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, navigate organizational complexity, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong background in technology‑enabled operating model transformation.
  • Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.
