Who we are looking for
State Street Markets is the trading arm of State Street Bank, one of the world’s largest custodians, and State Street Markets Research has consistently ranked first in annual Euromoney surveys.
The Research team includes a Global Macro Strategy group that collaborates closely with State Street Associates (SSA) – an academic-led research organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. SSA develops proprietary quantitative indicators that analyze investor behavior across asset classes, inflation metrics from State Street Price Stats, one of the world’s largest private databases on online inflation, thematic media trends, and risk/portfolio analytics. The Macro Strategy team integrates SSA’s quantitative insights with its discretionary economic and market analysis.

We are seeking a Vice President to join the Macro Strategy team. Join us if making your mark in the financial services industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.
What you will be responsible for
As Macro Strategy Research VP, you will

Collaborate with global strategists and researchers based in Boston, Hong Kong, London, and Milan.

Analyze and communicate the impact of economic and political developments on financial markets, with a focus on foreign exchange and both developed and emerging markets.

Contribute to periodical research publications covering EM, FX, inflation, and asset allocation.

Support the development and interpretation of proprietary market indicators for internal stakeholders and external clients.

Engage with clients through well-prepared meetings and presentations; prior experience with Korean clients is a plus.

Promote State Street’s research through media engagement to enhance brand visibility.
Education & Preferred Qualifications

More than five years of experience in financial markets, preferably within a financial institution or multilateral organization.

Graduate degree (postgraduate preferred) in Economics, Finance, or related fields. Advanced statistical and econometric skills are an advantage.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality research commentary.

Korean language proficiency is essential; fluency in Chinese and/or Japanese would be a plus.
