Now Brewing – senior manager, Global Communications – Corporate Reputation Campaigns! #tobeapartner
From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others. Today, with more than 400,000 partners in over 40,000 stores worldwide, we continue to expand our positive impact across the communities we serve and the coffee growing regions that sustain us. Our Global Communications & Corporate Affairs team helps share that impact — building trust, elevating leadership, and demonstrating how Starbucks uses its scale for good.
As senior manager, Global Communications, you will lead global, integrated communications campaigns that amplify how Starbucks is helping make a positive difference for people and the planet – particularly through our work in coffee, sustainability, and community impact. This role calls for someone who is both a strategist and a doer: strong in narrative development, comfortable shaping complex initiatives into compelling stories, and able to lead campaigns across owned, earned, and internal channels. You’ll work across functions and levels – from sustainability and coffee teams to social impact, public policy, and external partner organizations – bringing clarity, cohesion, and creativity to highly visible, reputation building moments.
As a senior manager, Global Communications, you will…
- Lead Integrated Campaign Strategy
o Develop and run global, multichannel communications campaigns highlighting Starbucks leadership in coffee, sustainability, community investments, and positive impact.
o Build holistic strategies across owned, earned media, digital, social, and partner channels that reinforce Starbucks leadership and reach global audiences.
- Shape the Narrative
o Translate complex initiatives into clear, compelling, human stories.
o Elevate breakthrough moments that strengthen brand trust and reinforce leadership.
- Media Relations & Earned Social Storytelling
o Build and maintain relationships with key reporters across relevant beats.
o Lead proactive earned media and social: shaping angles, pitching stories, and securing high impact coverage with reporters, influencers and creators.
o Create a steady pipeline of news and storytelling by surfacing milestones, insights, and timely trends.
o Oversee media engagement for priority announcements and prepare spokespeople.
o Monitor the landscape to anticipate media interest and position Starbucks proactively.
- Partner Across the Enterprise
o Work closely with Sustainability, Coffee, Social Impact, Public Policy, and Communications teams on integrated plans that aligns messaging and ensure cohesive storytelling.
o Provide strategic counsel to leaders and teams on opportunities, risks, and narrative direction.
o Know when/how to bring leaders along and which forums to leverage for plan alignment.
- Drive Content & Creative
o Lead development of messaging and storytelling assets that bring Starbucks impact to life.
o Guide agencies and channel owners in creating press materials, digital content, talking points, and executive communications.
o Collaborate with international communications teams to elevate meaningful stories from global markets and coffee growing origin communities.
- Manage Issues & Insights
o Identify risks and narrative gaps, knowing how/when to escalate, with recommendations.
o Use audience insights and campaign performance to refine messaging and approach.
We’d love to hear from people with:
-
8+ years in global communications, corporate communications, PR, sustainability or social impact communications, or integrated campaign leadership.
-
Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives; agency management or team leadership preferred.
-
Exceptional writing, with the ability to distill complexity into clarity.
-
Strong strategic thinking paired with precise execution.
-
Ability to influence and build trust with senior leaders and partners.
-
Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast‑moving environment.
-
Adept across earned, owned, digital, and social channels, with intuition for what works where.
